Due to the unique blob-like morphology of the Enigma variety (a true Tidal Wave mutation), harvesting requires a bit more precision than your average mushroom flush. But don't worry—here’s exactly how to do it right.
Precision Over Power: Use a Scalpel
When it's time to harvest, avoid twisting or tearing. The Enigma mass forms a thick, dense blob that fuses together across most of the surface of the cake. Twisting could damage the base and disturb the integrity of the substrate. Instead, opt for a sharp scalpel or fine blade for controlled slicing.
Note: Even with a scalpel, some tissue may remain on the cake. That’s normal! You’ll likely need to do a bit of post-harvest cleanup to fully prepare the substrate for any further use.
When Are They Ready?
Unlike traditional caps and stems, Enigma doesn't give you the classic signs of readiness. Instead, watch for subtle color cues: Once the tips begin to bruise with a bluish or greenish hue, it's time to harvest.This natural bruising signals maturity and peak potency—don’t miss your window!
Can You Get a Second Flush?

Bitte um Rückerstattung oder Ersatzlieferung, da der Kit offensichtlich fehlerhaft war.

Great product arrived faster than usual with new courier. Started getting pins in about 2 weeks and waiting to harvest. Takes longer to grow than other cubes but from research on potency its all going to be woth it. Zamnezia never disappoints.

Drying is difficult, I dry it in a cardboard box which allows for som airflow, but its attaching to the box and just keeps growing. I will read the instructions again to see if it details a better way to dry.
But yeah, very nice, worth a try for other enthousiasts.

Harvesting Enigma mushrooms is slightly different from traditional Psilocybe cubensis varieties because Enigma is a mutant ‘blob’ species - it does not produce typical caps and stems. Here is a clear guide to harvesting Enigma effectively: How do you know when Enigma is ready to harvest? Colour change is the most important clue. Note: - A shift from white to slightly off-white, creamy or golden in colour - A soft, rubbery texture that becomes firmer - Enigma does not leave spores, so you cannot use the ‘veil-breaking’ rule as with normal mushrooms. Harvest period: Usually 3-5 days after full blob formation, when growth slows down and the surface becomes slightly riper in colour. I hope this helps.
