Magic mushroom spore prints are sterile, lab-prepared specimens of Psilocybe cubensis spores collected on foil for microscopy and taxonomy. At Zamnesia we supply verified cubensis strains, Golden Teacher, B+, McKennaii and more, prepared under clean conditions and shipped discreetly across the UK. Below we cover what a spore print is, how it is stored, and how it differs from a syringe or vial.

Cubensis Amazonas is a strain of mushroom in the Psilocybe genus that grows in subtropical regions all over the globe. In nature, it tends to find a home in cow and horse dung and enriched soils. This GMO-free spore print contains millions of spores, allowing users access to this otherwise hard-to-source variety.
Cubensis McKennaii is a powerful, visual Psilocybe mushroom known for producing uplifting, colourful, and mood-boosting effects. McKennaii is also renowned for being a very solid and stable cultivar, making it ideal for home growers. This print contains millions of natural, non-GMO McKennaii spores. Researchers and cultivators alike will be impressed by this strain.
Ban Hua Thai is a unique psilocybin-bearing mushroom originating from Thailand, which, like many other regions of Asia, has a rich culture surrounding mushrooms (common practices include mixing Ban Hua into juices and milkshakes). Known for its potent effects, quick colonisation rate, and long, slender fruits, this spore print is ideal for those looking to get their hands on something...
Despite its name, the origins of cubensis Hawaii are unknown. While the first company to trade this variety of mushroom was based in Honolulu, many cultivators recognise the strain’s keen resemblance to cubensis Cambodia. Producing mild effects that are visual, introspective, and creative, cubensis Hawaii spores are now available from Zamnesia.

A spore print is a specimen made by resting a mature mushroom cap on sterile foil so the gill spores fall out as a fine, purple-brown imprint. It is the driest, most concentrated way to keep spores, which is why a print is the format collectors and microscopy enthusiasts reach for when they want something that lasts.
The cap is placed gills-down on sterile foil and left for a few hours, and the spores it releases build up as a dense print. Because the spores are dry rather than suspended in liquid, they hold up far longer than any wet format. The colour tells you something too: a healthy Psilocybe cubensis print is a rich purple-brown.
Each spore format suits a different job. The print is the one built to be archived. A spore syringe comes pre-filled and ready to dispense, easiest for a quick sample. A spore vial is a refillable glass reservoir you can draw from repeatedly. And a liquid culture syringe holds living mycelium rather than spores, a different thing entirely. A print keeps longest, but you have to prepare it before use.
Kept cool, dark and sealed, a print stays viable for years, which is why a labelled set makes a proper reference collection. To view spores, scrape a little onto a slide or into a drop of sterile water and look under the scope. Work with clean, aseptic technique, since a print is a specimen source rather than a finished product and one contaminant spoils the sample.
Our prints span well-documented Psilocybe cubensis genetics, from the classic Golden Teacher and hardy B+ to the stronger McKennaii and exotic picks like Ban Hua Thai. Golden Teacher is the reference strain most people examine first, easy to identify under magnification. Each print is a single labelled strain. If you would rather have a ready-colonised product, that sits in our separate grow kit category.
