Every Solfire Gardens strain here is pheno-hunted, feminized and tested in house before release, which is the short version of why this Pacific Northwest breeder gets talked about. The longer version is on the packet: twelve strains that run from 20% THC to 32%, from a seven-week finish to a ten-week one, and from sweet strawberry all the way to something that genuinely smells like sour garlic. Below: how to narrow twelve strains down to the one you actually want, who the breeder is, and what each strain asks of you in the tent.
The twelve split along four lines, and once you know which line matters to you the choice gets straightforward.
Short on time. Strawmata finishes in 7 to 8 weeks, the quickest here. Lemon Elixir and Sundae Supper both wrap up in 56 to 63 days. At the other end, Trich Beast wants 63 to 70 days and Lung Buster needs 9 to 10 weeks, so neither suits a tight rotation. More options like this sit in fast flowering seeds.
Chasing potency. Sinfero tops the range at 28 to 32% THC, with Gasserole at 25 to 30% and Lemon Elixir at 28%. Trich Beast and Lung Buster are the mildest at 20 to 25%, which is still plenty. The wider high THC strains selection goes further.
First time with this breeder. Bahama Berry is the forgiving one: resilient, compact, happy indoors or out, and it tastes like strawberry jam. Start there rather than with Lung Buster.
After a head high. Trich Beast is the only sativa-leaning strain Solfire has in stock here, at 60% sativa. Strawmata is a straight 50/50. Everything else leans indica, which is worth knowing before you commit six seeds to a tent.
Solfire works from a small stable of house parents rather than chasing whatever is trending. Last Supper sits behind four of the twelve, Udder Madness behind another four, and Bahama Mama, Gas Guzzler, Giggle Gas, Don Mega and Sin n' Juice each show up twice. That repetition is the point: the same proven stock pushed in different directions produces siblings you can actually predict, not a shelf of unrelated gambles.
The house line is that no one grows a Solfire strain before Solfire does, and the testing shows in how consistently these plants hold structure. Barf Breath is the clearest demonstration of the terpene work: sweet garlic and chemical funk over a base that should not work and completely does, wrapped in resin-drenched, oversized calyxes.
A Pacific Northwest seed company. By its own telling it began in 2015 with a University of Washington biology student in Seattle who got hooked on pheno hunting and built a seed bank out of it. Their best known release, The Don Mega, placed third for Best Indica Flower at the 2018 High Times Cannabis Cup in Michigan. We do not stock Don Mega, though it is a parent of Lung Buster and Barf Breath, so the line runs through this page anyway. For the rest of the breeders we carry, see seed banks.
All twelve are photoperiod, so nothing flowers until you drop the lights to 12/12, and if you would rather not wait on a light switch, the rest of the cannabis seeds range covers autoflowers too. Indoors, the strains that publish a figure land between 550 and 650 g/m2. Outdoors, 1100 to 1200 g per plant by late September or early October is normal, and Miami Madness will run to 250 cm if you plant it out, against roughly 120 cm in a tent.
Two need more attention than the rest. Lung Buster grows buds dense enough to hold moisture, so airflow through the canopy is not optional in a British autumn. Terpgasm is fussier still, wanting humidity nudged towards 60% in flower to bring the terpenes forward, which is uncomfortably close to where rot begins. Strawmata has no published yield data at all. If that all sounds like hard work, beginner strains is the calmer shelf.
Solfire release in limited runs, so stock here moves and does not always come back quickly. Packs hold six seeds, apart from Yummy Yummy which is a three. Everything ships discreetly to the UK in plain outer packaging, and seeds are stored properly rather than sat on a shelf, which matters more for germination than most people assume.
Every Solfire Gardens strain we stock is feminized and photoperiod. You will not get male plants, and flowering starts when you switch the lights to 12/12 rather than on a timer of the plant's own.
Bahama Berry. It is resilient, stays compact, performs indoors and outdoors, and finishes in 8 to 9 weeks. Avoid Lung Buster and Terpgasm to begin with, as both need closer humidity and airflow control.
Loud terpene profiles, heavy resin and strong colour. The breeder pheno hunts extensively and tests releases in house, and its Don Mega took third for Best Indica Flower at the 2018 Cannabis Cup in Michigan.
Indoors, 550 to 650 g/m2 across the strains with published figures. Outdoors, 1100 to 1200 g per plant harvested late September to early October. Strawmata is the one strain with no published yield data.
