Every smoker in the UK has lost a fight with a damp disposable lighter at some point. Usually in a car park, usually in the rain. The fix isn't buying five more of the same; it's picking a lighter that matches where and what you smoke. Here's how we'd choose from the 58 we stock.
The Three Things That Actually Matter
Fuel
Butane is the workhorse: cheap refills from any corner shop, and it powers everything from Clippers to the Blazer Big Buddy torch. Plasma lighters ditch gas for a USB charge, which means no refill cans rattling around your drawer.
Flame
A soft flame treats your rolling paper gently. A jet flame is a pressurised blue dart that stays lit in a gale, which matters more in Manchester than it does in Malaga.
Refillable or disposable
A disposable lighter is a subscription you never signed up for. Refillables cost more up front and then basically never again: new gas, new flint, same lighter for years.

Can You Fly With a Lighter?
Short answer: one ordinary lighter, carried on your person, is allowed on UK flights. It can't go in your hold luggage, and jet flame or "blue flame" lighters aren't allowed on board at all. Buy the torch for home and keep a Clipper in your jacket for the trip.
Make It Last
