Got more ambition than floor space? You're in good company. The Joint Doctor, sold at Zamnesia under his Doctor's Choice label, is the breeder behind Lowryder, the first commercially available autoflowering strain. His five feminized crosses, four autos and one photoperiod kush, are still built for the same job: quick, compact plants that keep a low profile.
This speedy autoflower takes only nine weeks to mature, but doesn’t compromise on taste, bud quality, or effect. Enjoy apricot-scented nugs drenched in a frosty coating of THC-rich resin.
The feminized Ogre by the Joint Doctor is an autoflowering variety with a highly complex genetic background. In North America it is also known as Secret Citrus AF x Durban Skunk, but it actually is a blend of Short Term Amnesia (Soma's Amnesia Haze x LowRyder) x Hindu Kush x Durban Skunk x Ruderalis. Produces high yields of over-sized buds within 9-10 weeks.
From the team at Doctor's Choice comes an auto to make an appointment with, Doctor's Choice #1. A combination of three awesome parents, the result is an autoflowering strain that is full of character, rich in flavour, and rounded off with a high that is complex and enjoyable. This is undoubtedly one doctor you won't...
Lowryder is the successful sequel to the (original) Lowryder and became incredible popular in a very short of time thanks to her ability to start flowering automatically.
With some great parentage, DC Kush is one blissed-out indica-dominant strain you need to check out. She offers potency, intense aromas and flavours, and respectable yields of tight buds. There's already so much to like about her. From Doctor's Choice, make sure you book your appointment with this strain as soon as possible.

Before Lowryder, cannabis only flowered when the light cycle allowed it. Here's why the Joint Doctor's range still earns a spot in a small UK grow.
The Joint Doctor was the first to fold ruderalis genetics into commercial cannabis seeds, and Lowryder was the result: a plant that flowers on age, not light cycle. No fiddling with lamp timers, no waiting for autumn. Lowryder #2 (Lowryder 1 x Santa Maria) is the refined classic: seed to harvest in 8-9 weeks at around 60 cm. You'll also see the label written as Dr. Choice or simply DC; same breeder.
A 60 cm plant that finishes in two months is the difference between a grow your neighbours never notice and one they do. Chronic Ryder stays at 60-80 cm, takes 9-10 weeks, and gives a mild 14% smoke with a tangy apricot edge that sneaks up on the exhale. Ogre is the slowcoach of the autos: 10-11 weeks and 100-110 cm, though it repays you with up to 200 g/m² indoors. If your tent has headroom, Doctor's Choice 1 Auto (Jack Herer x Skunk x Lowryder 2) hits 20% THC and up to 600 g/m² from a bushy 150 cm plant.
Our honest ranking for a first small-space run:
DC Kush (Afghani x Californian OG Kush) is the odd one out: a photoperiod indica for growers who run their own light schedule. It flowers in 8-9 weeks and gives up to 400 g/m² indoors. If raw potency is the goal, the modern high-THC autoflowering cannabis seeds from Royal Queen Seeds we also stock will out-punch this range. What they can't offer is the history. Start with Lowryder #2 and you're growing a direct descendant of the strain that started autoflowering.
They stay short and they don't care about light schedules. A Lowryder #2 tops out around 60 cm, so it fits the smallest grow tent or a discreet balcony pot, and it's done 8-9 weeks after sprouting. Outdoors, finishing early means you harvest before the damp British autumn sets in.
It was the first autoflowering strain sold commercially, yes. The Joint Doctor crossed ruderalis genetics into his breeding lines, and the result was a plant that flowers on age rather than light cycle. Every auto on the market today builds on that idea.
It varies a lot across the range. Lowryder #2 is genuinely mild, Chronic Ryder sits at 14%, and Doctor's Choice 1 Auto reaches 20% THC. If you want the hardest-hitting auto in the shop, look at the newer hybrids, but for a smooth, manageable smoke these are hard to fault.
DC Kush is the only photoperiod strain here, so it flowers when you switch the lights to 12/12 rather than on its own clock. This indica-dominant Afghani x Californian OG Kush cross flowers in 8-9 weeks and yields up to 400 g/m² indoors, with outdoor plants reaching 200 cm. More work than the autos, but a bigger payoff.
