Grow Accessories and Supplies for Every Stage of the Grow

Grow accessories aren't the optional extras you add once the tent is already up. Most grows that go sideways go sideways in week one, in a soggy seed tray or a pot nobody labelled. So think of this shelf in stages: propagation, feeding and soil, companion planting, pots and labels, cutting and training, climate and measuring, then harvest. Work through it in that order and you stop buying things twice.

Week One: Propagators, Coco Plugs and a Warm Base

The Zamnesia Seed Propagator has six slots, each roughly 5.4 cm wide and 5 cm high, under a clear vented lid so you can watch without lifting it. Coco Germination Plugs come in a 6-pack, 5.5 by 5.5 cm while dry and light as a biscuit. Wet them and they swell about 40%, going dark, springy and damp to the touch, with a seed-safe EC and a pH of 5.8 to 6.2. Grow feed, bloom feed, booster: which bottle does what

A grow feed like Plagron Terra Grow, Alga Grow or Biobizz Bio Grow carries the nitrogen-heavy side that pushes leaves and stems. A bloom feed such as Alga Bloom or Bio Bloom takes over once flowers set. Boosters sit on top of a base feed, never instead of it: PK 13-14, Max Yield and Max Flavour from Monster Buds, or Green Sensation, Power Buds, Power Roots, Hydro Roots, Pure Zym, Sugar Royal and Vita Race from Plagron, with Calmag from Biobizz for the calcium and magnesium gap. Follow the dosing on the bottle you buy, and wear gloves with the concentrates. Buddy Packs: companion plants, not insects

We don't sell insects or biological controls. What we do sell is 18 single Buddy Packs and four themed mixes called SCARE, DEFENDER, STEALTH and NUTRIENT, each a small weighed sachet of seed you sow next to your crop. Borage, red and white clover and alfalfa fix or return nutrients to the soil. Marigold puts beetles, leaf hoppers and bad nematodes off. The herbs, sweet basil, coriander, dill, chervil, peppermint, lemon balm, lavender, chamomile and yarrow, mask scent and pull pollinators in. They're still plants, so they want their own space, water and weeks to get going.

Cutting, Training and Labels You Can Still Read in Six Weeks

For trimming there are professional pruning shears, leaf cutter shears and the Bud Cutter Bonsai for close work, plus gardening and latex gloves so resin ends up on the glove and not your fingers. Training gear includes the Royal Queen Seeds LST clips, which hold a bent branch down without pinching the stem, along with velcro cable ties for tidying leads. The 2-pack rope ratchet hangers run 2.5 m of braided polypropylene with nickel-plated buckles and take up to 68 kg, so a light and a carbon filter both go up. Add the geotextile fabric pot, wall planter or transplanter pot, wooden and exclusive pot markers, labelling stickers, a measuring cup, an ultra fine misting bottle, the FanGuard silicone connector and cotton filter sleeves in 100 mm and 150 mm.

Numbers on the Wall, Then the Drying Rack

pH test strips give you a quick read on your water before you feed, and the large screen thermo-hygrometer from VDL or the digital hygrotemp from Vanguard Hydroponics tells you what the room is doing overnight. Lights run off the basic analog VDL timer or the 24h plug-in timer, and Toshiba AA and AAA batteries keep the meters awake. At the end, the herb drying rack takes a whole plant's worth of trimmed buds in layers with air moving through, which beats hanging branches off a wire and squashing one side flat. Buying in order?
