Happy Valley Genetics: Feminized Seeds From an ETHOS Collab

Two things to clear up before you pick a pack. Happy Valley Genetics has nothing to do with the Yorkshire TV drama of the same name, and it isn't one breeder working alone. It's a collaboration between Happy Valley, founded by Michael Reardon and trading as HVV Genetics, LLC, and ETHOS Genetics, the Colorado breeder Colin Gordon set up. That's why these cannabis seeds read like ETHOS lineages with a Happy Valley selection stamped on top.

Two Names on Every Pack, and Who Does What

ETHOS brings the backbone. End Game #3 shows up as a parent in Game Over, Sweet 16, Knockout, Candy Games 38 and Candy Games 25, so the shelf has a real family resemblance. Happy Valley does the hunting. Candy Games 25 came out of an 80 seed pheno hunt that pulled the Candy Store #25 mother, and Another Level traces back to a GMO Zkittlez cut the Happy Valley crew found themselves. Everglades OG sits slightly apart from the End Game clan: it's a Chemdawg cut, ChemD I95, crossed with Pineapple Runtz.

Autos in 10 to 12 Weeks, or Photoperiods You Can Steer

The autos are Oh My Thai, Pineapple Diesel, Pineapple Daddy, Everglades OG, Easy Button and Shortcut. The photoperiods are Game Over, Sweet 16, Overtime, Knockout, Candy Games 38, Candy Games 25 and Another Level. Every one of them is feminized. Oh My Thai Autoflower runs seed to harvest in about 10 weeks and Pineapple Diesel takes 12; the photoperiods flower in around 9 weeks indoors and come down in October outside. Watch out for height, because several of these stretch hard: Oh My Thai throws towering colas and needs real headroom, Overtime runs tall, and Candy Games 38 gets tall and drinks a lot. If your tent is short, Knockout or Sweet 16 stay at medium height and are the easier fit.

Candied Fruit, Orange Peel and Straight Gas

Crack a jar of cured Oh My Thai and it reeks of candied fruit over damp soil, which is about as close to old Thai landrace as you'll get from an auto. Overtime opens sharper, more orange peel than lemon, with tropical fruit underneath. Game Over leads on terpinolene, limonene and caryophyllene, Sweet 16 on limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene, Another Level on limonene, caryophyllene and humulene. On the numbers: Knockout gives up to 620 g/m2 indoors, Game Over up to 650, Sweet 16, Overtime and Candy Games 25 up to 700, Pineapple Diesel up to 730, and Candy Games 38 tops the shelf past 750.

The Cup Wins, and What They Actually Cover

Happy Valley's own site claims two High Times Cannabis Cup first places, Best Sativa Flower with Super Lemon Haze and Best Hybrid Flower with White Wedding. Both are awards for grown flower, from the collaboration's own pheno hunts of ETHOS packs, and neither strain is sold on this shelf, so don't read them as prizes for these seeds. The closest thing to a pack-level credential here is Overtime: one of its parents, End Game Cookies, took first place at the 2022 High Times Cup.
