Autos That Get You From Seed to Jar Fast

Super Skunk Autoflowering flowers in around 48 days and doesn't need extra grow or bloom feed to do it, which makes her a soft landing if you've never mixed nutrients before. What she does want is root room, so use pots of at least 10 litres. Go smaller and you cap the yield yourself, no matter how good your light is. Northern Lights Autoflowering runs 8 to 9 weeks from seed to harvest for around 200 g/m², and her smoke is thick and full-flavoured with a heavy, relaxing finish that lands you on the sofa rather than out on the bike.

Worth knowing before you commit: her photoperiod sister gives around 400 g/m² off a plant of roughly 130cm. If you can run an 18/6 then 12/12 schedule, the photoperiod Northern Lights pack is the better use of your tent floor. Autos earn their keep when you want two or three runs in one season instead of one big one.

Photoperiods, From an Easy Northern Lights to a 14-Week Haze

Northern Lights (Vision Seeds) is the pack we hand to first-time growers. She's tough, forgiving of a missed watering, and finishes in 8 to 9 weeks of flowering at about 130cm with roughly 400 g/m² of tight, frosty bud. The honest watch-out is the plant itself: the smell during the grow isn't the nicest you'll ever have in a spare room, though the cured smoke turns pungent and sweet with the kind of knockout indica stone that ends the evening. Pure Gelato is the dessert pack here, a cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies that runs 70% sativa and 30% indica. She flowers in only 9 weeks for 600 to 750 g/m². The buds stay on the smaller side but come dense, lush green with bright orange hairs and purple streaks, and the flavour is earthy, fruity and creamy sweet at once. The effect is uplifting and euphoric while still leaving you able to hold a conversation.

Nicole x OG pairs OG Kush with Nicole, a resin-heavy indica hybrid from Colombia. She flowers in 8.5 weeks, stays compact indoors for around 650 g/m², and can reach up to 800 g per plant outdoors if you give her sun and warmth. Blueberry sits on top of a fresh pine base, which keeps the smoke smooth rather than cloying. Dark Star x AK-49 goes the other way at 90% indica, with earthy, woody flavour and sweet undertones, 8.5 weeks of flowering, and green and blue buds under a thick coat of resin. She takes soil or hydro without complaint and is a proper night-time smoke.

Then there's Brainkiller Haze, which is the opposite of a beginner pack. She's 90% sativa, gets tall and branchy, and asks for 14 weeks of flowering plus an eye on your pH, because that's where she gets sensitive. Get it right and she gives up to 600 g/m² indoors or as much as 1100 g/m² outdoors, at 22% THC with a soaring, near-psychedelic high. Get impatient and you've tied up a tent for three and a half months. If that sounds like too much, Pure Gelato scratches a similar cerebral itch in 9 weeks.

Which Vision Seed Pack Fits Your Space

Space decides more than taste does. In a 60x60 tent, Nicole x OG and Dark Star x AK-49 make sense because both stay compact and put their energy into dense bud instead of stretch. Brainkiller Haze in that same tent is a fight you'll lose, she wants headroom and a bit of training. Critical Impact is the outdoor monster of the shelf: 80% indica, 8 to 9 weeks indoors for around 550 g/m² at 18% THC with a dash of CBD, or a small tree of up to 2.5 metres in a bed with 1200 grams of potential.

Critical Impact also comes with the loudest warning on this page. She starts stinking during flowering and doesn't stop, so plan for a good extraction fan and a decent carbon filter from the start rather than halfway through week five when the hallway gives you away. Her short flowering time is genuinely useful outdoors in a shorter summer, with plants ready to cut in late September or early October.
