Sumo Seeds is a breeder brand, and we stock ten of their strains inside our wider cannabis seeds range. You'll see other sites hand them a country and a founding year. We're leaving that alone, because there's nothing solid left to check it against. What we can tell you is what's in the packets: ten feminised strains, eight photoperiod and two autoflowering, those being Violet's Wonder Auto and AK Full Auto. The breeding leans on parents most growers already know, AK, White Widow, OG Kush and the Blueberry-carrying Thunderberry, rebuilt for denser flowers.

Fruit, purple hues and citrus

Crack a Violet's Wonder nugget and the blueberry lands first, with a hazy lemon sitting behind it. Thunderstruck goes another way, floral and sharply fresh like peppermint, with sweet grape on the exhale. Cinderellas leans grapefruit and citrus, Violet's Wonder Auto is sweet citrus over damp earth, and Appleberry stacks pillar-shaped buds that smell of sweet fruit and flowers. Sumo's OG Kush is the loud one, pungent citrus-diesel, up to 24% THC in 7-8 weeks. Berries & Cheese rounds out the fruit-forward end of the shelf.

The classics: Ultimate AK, AK Full Auto and White Widow Original

If you landed here hunting an old-school Sumo strain, these three are what's actually on the shelf. Ultimate AK bulks up the original AK with Sumo's Big Bud, 9 weeks of bloom, rock-hard nugs and better mould resistance than the AK plants we've seen sulk in damp autumns. AK Full Auto is the autoflowering take on the same idea at 9-10 weeks. White Widow Original brings 22% THC in 9 weeks, and it's still the resin monster of the group.

Weeks, grams and centimetres you can plan around

Sumo's OG Kush and Thunderstruck are the quick ones at 7-8 weeks, then Cinderellas at 8-9, Ultimate AK and White Widow Original at 9, and Violet's Wonder at 9-10. Documented yields: Thunderstruck 500-600 g/m2, Violet's Wonder 350-500 g/m2 at 100-130cm indoors, and Violet's Wonder Auto 200-300 g/m2. Thunderstruck outdoors runs 100-140cm. Those figures belong to those strains only, so don't read one plant's numbers across the rest of the shelf.

Dense buds mean you watch the humidity

The thing to watch on this brand is bud density. Appleberry and Ultimate AK pack their flowers tight, and tight flowers plus a muggy tent in week seven is how growers lose a harvest. Keep air moving through the canopy and get the humidity down as the buds fatten. The other honest catch: Violet's Wonder Auto needs 10-11 weeks from germination, slow for an auto, so if you want a quicker turnaround take AK Full Auto at 9-10 weeks instead. Short on height?
